Barrier Fall Protection Systems

A HCL guard-rail is the ideal solution for providing collective protection where there is a requirement for roof access to maintain services, access equipment or delineate an emergency escape route and removes the need for additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) or training.

The degree of frequency of access will define which of the two systems will be most suitable for your fall protection solution;

1. FS1000 Freestanding Guard-Rail System (Category CP2 Fall Protection System)

FS1000 is a permanent, non-penetrative guard-rail system and is an ideal solution where the provision of limited, temporary access for maintenance work has to be provided. Where there is a requirement to meet the loadings specified in the Building Regulations, FB2000 should be used.

2. FB2000 Fixed Guard-Rail system (Category CP1 Fall Protection System)

FB2000 is a permanent guard-rail system for regular access and is ideal for use where significant numbers of personnel may be adjacent to a fall hazard at any one time. Furthermore, if the guard-rail system has to withstand loadings specified within the Building Regulations, then it is likely that the FB2000 will be required.

HCL Service Commitment

HCL employs a full range of fall protection products to provide custom designed solutions to suit individual applications. No two situations are exactly alike and the solution must take this into account when considering the various impinging relationships between each of the design criteria.

To ensure that all legislative and ‘local’ requirements are met, a competent and experienced person must carry out this assessment. When all the relevant criteria cannot be ascertained remotely, a full site survey and risk assessment will have to be carried out. Only when the HCL design team is satisfied that all the relevant information is known will a solution be proposed.

When work proceeds, the installations are undertaken by direct-employ, trained HCL technicians who then commission and certify the systems upon completion.

To assist our clients further, the HCL handover includes awareness training for the use of the fall protection system and any supplied Personal Protective Equipment. HCL is always on hand locally to provide clients with ongoing support that includes training, up-to-the-minute height safety advice and the very crucial annual testing and certification of the systems which is a legal requirement.

HCL is the UK market leader in the provision of fall protection solutions operating from eleven area offices, providing fast and efficient local support and services to any enquiry however large or small.
