Our origins date back to the 1960s when HCL was established as a specialist division within a construction and buildings maintenance supplies group. In 1992 we became an independent company following a management buy-out and subsequently grew to become UK market leader in the installation of safety at height solutions.
In 2001, HCL was acquired by Latchways plc. Latchways is registered on the London Stock Exchange and is the premier global company in the design, manufacture and sale of engineered fall protection safety systems.
Benefitting from continual investment, HCL today employs more than 150 people and operates through a country-wide network of 10 regional offices. We have three dedicated divisions, which specialise in safety at height system design and installation, safety at height system inspection & maintenance and building envelope repairs.
HCL specialises in the design and installation of safety at height systems. We provide a comprehensive range of solutions including guardrails, non-slip walkways and ManSafe cable systems for fall restraint and fall arrest.
HCL has a dedicated operational division that specialises in the structural fixing and repair of building envelopes. Whatever the building's age or construction method, brick built or concrete, we can investigate the fault and implement a complete solution.
There is a legal requirement for fall protection systems to be periodically tested. HCL provides a nation-wide service, delivered by directly employed technicians, to re-test and certify all aspects of safety at height systems and equipment.
